Vacuum Lifting – Coffin Manufacturing Industry

Manual handling within the coffin manufacturing industry is a big problem. Lifting 35kg bulky coffins can be a two-man job and can cause many issues such as back, neck and upper arm injury.

H & S Lifting solved the clients handling issues by providing a vacuum lifter to lift coffins from a conveyor to a spray bay and then back to a pallet. You can see the effortless lifting of the coffins and now the process has improved productivity and any health issues of the operator.

The area where the vacuum lifter was installed was a tight area, so we designed special steelwork brackets to support the vacuum lifter from a light-duty aluminium crane, giving ease of movement around the area.

A single operator can now lift the coffins, spray and palletize within seconds with minimal effort and in a safe manner.
